Clean water left standing for a couple of days can shift to Category 2, which changes what gets removed. That shift is exactly why a fast start matters.
The drying class drives the timeline too. A small Class 1 loss might be dry in two days, but Class 4 losses in dense hardwood, plaster or masonry need specialty drying and extra days. The restorer should explain both ratings in plain language and write them into the file.
